: Snow-flakes

Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.
Even as our cloudy fancies take
Suddenly shape in some divine expression,
Even as the troubled heart doth make
In the white countenance confession,
The troubled sky reveals
The grief it feels.
This is the poem of the air,
Slowly in silent syllables recorded;
This is the secret of despair,
Long in its cloudy bosom hoarded,
Now whispered and revealed
To wood and field.
The secret of despair you say? Hah. Despair is when you shovel out your front walk, and then the snow plows come though and throws snow back over all the work you just did.

There are even more fabulous musicians appearing at this benefit for a worthy cause then are listed on the flyer. I am scheduled to play at 3:30 with Big Mike Devita and at 12:00 with Arthur Neilson, but I’m sure I’ll be sitting in with other folks as well. So even if you don’t catch me, you’re sure to catch someone you’ll like. $25 goes to a worthy cause – the food is very good as well. I like the catfish.
